My interest in making videos goes back some twenty years or more. That sounds like a long time, and I suppose it is, particularly when you consider that in the beginning there were no digital cameras, DVD camcorders or cell phone cameras with which to do it. Movies and television hold an almost mystical fascination for a young child, and this was particularly true in the days before the means of recording moving pictures were cheap and available at every corner convenience store. As time passed, I got older and moved on to other interests, but the fascination of videography never completely left me. And so it came to be that in early 2008, I finally acquired my first video camera, a Sony Hi8 Handycam purchased off eBay, and in late March, I made my first test video, right here in my living room.
This page showcases various amateur videos I've made, which range from galleries of photos animated in Adobe Premiere to readings from local performance artists, to more everyday things such as a drum rehearsal or a walking tour of Deep Ellum. None of this is intended to be professional or even semi-professional, though I have made an effort to get good quality sound when possible through the use of a separate microphone.
