Splattafish was a cookie monster style death metal band based out of Dallas. My first time seeing them was all the way back in 2007 at Tomcats Deep Ellum, on that venue's next-to-last day of operation before closing down. I saw them again the following April at the Skillman Street Pub, after which time they dropped completely off my radar. Having assumed they had long since broken up, I was surprised to find them playing a show with Kin of Ettins and Storm the Sun 5 1/2 years later. Splattafish finally released their studio album in June 2016, and apparently ceased activity not long afterward.
