I wept for your pain last night
It left me in a stage of fright
I climbed the path of sharp, sharp thorns
And crossed the plain of rough, rough stones
This vast expanse of hurt and misery
Must have its place in all human history
No one will fault us as we give our all
To both the world of man AND Mother Nature’s call
We’ll found a home both useful and serene
Our guide can be that youthful Nazarene
In our future of love and beauty
We’ll do our best in love and duty
Broken bird’s wing we’ll help to fix
Our job to tear down man’s wall of bricks
Simple totality of the fruit on the vine
Illuminates our goddess’s one true design
Pure grace of air wind water river rain earth
Illustrates our higher power’s natural worth
We’ll walk together in our time of need
To plant and nurture Mother Nature’s seed
I hope this ain’t no bad nor evil plan
To raise the child to become a man
Then he himself can foster the child
Who helps the tame return to the wild
We’ll all work with the mild and the lame
In hopes that someday they’ll do the same
