Deep Ellum bathroom
Adair's Saloon was never a venue I frequented during my concert photography days, but I did end up on the inside once or twice. The scrawled graffiti covering the bathroom walls presented a masterclass in how to create a gritty, dirty scene just ripe for some urban decay photography.

A call to action
Political machinations often drive resistance, which in turn drives movements and the dissemination of their associated slogans. This was spotted inside the men's bathroom inside Union Station, in downtown Dallas.

Prying eyes are watching you
On my last visit to Montreal, I returned to a club I'd enjoyed several years earlier for a night of live music. This particular night's act was unfortunately uninspiring and bland, the food was horrible, and the bathroom, with its array of celebrity photos on the walls, was somewhat unsettling given the position of one strategically placed portrait.

Something to read
The fall of 2022 saw me making my first international road trip in three years, and my first visit to the province of Manitoba. On the way to Toronto (and eventually southward back to the U.S.) I spent a night in a hostel in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Occupancy was light due to the recently removed pandemic restrictions, but at some point in the not-so-distant past at least one poet had spent a night there.

The world's worst bathroom floor plan
I've put up for the night in many, many motels and inns over the years while on the road, and these have ranged from very nice and slightly upscale to a couple of real shitholes. This Mississauga motel room was fairly nice, but it featured the absolute worst bathroom design I've seen anywhere. Seriously, who puts the toilet directly across from the mirror?

A "how to" for dummies
One sad fact of life is that some people just can't seem to understand proper bathroom etiquette, particularly when it comes to proper use of the facilities and fixtures (versus using the floor). This type of signage, found inside a record store in Grand Prairie, should NOT be necessary.

Litterbugs beware!
And here's the final image, taken inside an Irving, Texas restroom in June 2019. Someone was unhappy about finding this item outside the trash can and decided to do a call out. I've censored the name.
